Welcome to the Monarch Teacher Network - Canada (MTNC)!

Who Are We?

  • a group of Canadians interested in the environment, promoting a global community and bringing the inspiring story of the monarch butterfly to classrooms
  • elementary teachers who teach in both the public and separate boards from Junior Kindergarten to grade 10
  • individuals interested in school yard naturalization and the establishment of outdoor classrooms
  • partners with the United States and Mexico in forming a North American network of teachers committed to the preservation of the monarch butterfly and its habitat.
  • a part of the Monarch Teacher Network
  • "Teaching a Learning with Monarch Butterflies" workshop presentors (a three-day workshop that empowers teachers to bring the Monarch story to their classrooms through literacy, math, science, the arts, geography and social studies)
